Gus
Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Male
Gus is as sweet as they come ! He’s dog friendly, kid friendly, and is just happy to get some love! We aren’t sure how he is with cats. Gus can be a little shy and requires some time to get to know men particularly.
Petra
American Bulldog
Adult – Female
Petra is slowly learning to enjoy the good life and trust people. She was originally found with a shepherd living in an abandoned house in Owasso. She does seem to want to me alpha female, so experience integrating an alpha into a multi-dog household, or even an only dog household will be recommended. She’s turning into a real sweetheart !! ❤️
Honey Bee
Australian Shepherd
Young Adult – Female
HoneyBee was surrendered by a local breeder when she decided to close down her breeding program. Honeybee and the other two Aussies we took were clearly not well socialized and they don’t show very well at events currently. HoneyBee is sweet but requires some time to warm up. She would do best in a home with another social playful housemate, as that gives her the most confidence with people!
Remington
Australian Shepherd
Young Adult – Male
Remi has come a long way since his intake. He came to us completely terrified and under socialized. He would thrive in a home with another social, outgoing dog playmate. He would also prefer a home with limited car rides, as he gets car sick.
Martha -CL
Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur
Young Adult – Female
COURTESY LISTING … please contact Valerie at 817-454-0519 Martha is one of 2 young adult female dogs that were dumped at our rural church and cemetery in SE Oklahoma. She is a lover and will ask for a belly rub before she will eat. Even when she was starving! She does great on and off leash, and loves to be around other dogs. While taking shelter under the church building Martha had a litter of 5 adorable puppies. Even when she was caring for her young puppies she was so sweet to everyone who came to care for her and her puppies. There is a sense of gratitude from this beautiful soul. The puppies have been placed with a rescue and are currently being fostered. 2 of her puppies have even found forever homes! It hasn’t been so easy for momma Martha though. After gaining weight back and recovering from being a nursing mom she has recently been spayed, and is up to date on all shots including rabies. She is estimated to be close to 2 years old. Martha and her sister Mary are being fostered on a farm locally but have not had anyone interested in giving them a permanent home. They’re learning all about farm life but would love to be somebody’s special one on a farm or in the city! Our area has been inundated with dumped dogs. We would love for these girls to have a chance to live somewhere where their lives are valued and resources are more available.
Winston
Hound
Adult – Male
Special Needs: Epileptic I AM ON DAILY MEDS Winston, and his brother, Wally, were originally in a box by the road marked “free” ; the owners of the momma dog agreed to hand them over to the rescue. Wally has been adopted, but Winston has been in our program for months with no interest. Winston began having seizures a couple months after he was in his foster home. Our vet partners have run an array of tests, but they can not determine the cause of the seizures. Winston maintains very well on his daily medication, and he has minimal break through seizures. His meds are fairly inexpensive. Winston is still a good boy who enjoys playing with other dogs, travels well, and is house trained! He deserves his forever family! Please consider giving this sweet boy a chance!
Teddy
Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Male
Mr. Teddy was found as a stray. He is a very sweet and mellow love bug. We are unsure of his past, but we suspect a man was not kind to him. He needs some time to warm up to people, but men especially. Teddy is an all around good boy and is kid, cat, and dog friendly! He loves playing tug and gets the zoomies when he gets excited! Teddy would make a great addition to any home!!
Mary - CL
Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur
Young Adult – Female
COURTESY LISTING… please contact Valerie at 817-454-0519 Mary is one of 2 adult dogs dumped at a rural church and cemetery in SE Oklahoma. She is all about giving and receiving love! Like her sister Martha she will often want a belly rub before she gets to work on her food. Even when she was starving! Mary knows how to sit and stay, and is great on and off leash. She loves to be with her people even if that’s been a temporary caregiver, especially if that means a ride in the car! She also loves to be around other dogs. Mary has recently been spayed and is up to date on all shots including rabies. Mary and her sister Martha are currently being fostered on a local farm but have not had any interest to be taken into a permanent home. They’re learning all about farm life but would love a home anywhere country or city. Our area has been inundated with dumped dogs. We would love for these girls to have a chance to live somewhere where their lives are valued and resources are more available.
Pancetta "Pan"
Australian Shepherd/Dachshund
Adult – Male
Pan is a sweet, sensitive boy with a big heart who’s still learning to trust humans after being abandoned by his previous owners. Life hasn’t always been easy for him, but he’s found solace and joy in the company of other animals. His natural instinct is to bond with his “pack,” which means he gets along wonderfully with other dogs and animals. Pan’s Personality: Pan is shy around new people and needs time to feel comfortable in unfamiliar situations. While he may seem reserved at first, he’s a loving and playful companion once he feels safe. He prefers to build relationships at his own pace, but with patience, kindness, and consistency, Pan will show you how much love he has to give. Pan’s Favorites: Affection on his terms: He loves being pet around his head and adores belly rubs, but these need to happen when he’s ready. Pan will come to you when he feels comfortable, and when he does, it’s truly special. Canine friends: Pan is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. He thrives in their company, enjoying playtime, companionship, and the comfort of having a furry friend to rely on. Quiet moments: Once Pan bonds with you, he loves sitting nearby and sharing peaceful moments. Are You Pan’s Person? If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who needs a little extra care but will reward you with loyalty and affection, Pan might be the perfect addition to your family. Give him the time and love he deserves, and you’ll gain a best friend for life.
Jay
Pointer/Great Dane
Young Adult – Male
Meet Jay! Jay was pulled from Tulsa Animal Welfare and came to OPR. We aren’t sure where he came from or how he ended up at the shelter; but based on the condition he was in, he was most likely dumped, or a stray. Jay had lots of deep cuts and puncture wounds but is doing a lot better now! Jay is pretty anxious when it comes to meeting new people, but with a few treats he warms up quickly! He loves other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats. We think Jay is Great Dane/Border Collie/Pittie mix, so he’ll probably be big. He would do best in an active home, with a yard to run around in,and probably with some dog siblings!
