Leo

Labrador Retriever
Young Adult – Male

We think Leo is a Lab/retriever mix. He is super sweet and amazing with kids! Leo was originally found as an un-claimed stray. He has been sweet and friendly to everyone he’s met, and he’s gotten along great with his foster family's small dog. Leo enjoys going on his daily walks or snuggling on the couch. He is house trained.

Beni

Redbone Coonhound/Basset Hound
Adult – Male

Beni was abandoned by his family when they moved. They just left him there! A neighbor started feeding him, and she took him to get neutered and vaccinated. She would let him in the house when she could, even though it was against her landlord's policy. Eventually, the landlord really started putting his foot down that Beni needed to go. A foster stepped up for him, but he would love a forever home of his own. Beni is exercising more to attempt to slim down to a healthy weight so he would love a walking partner! He is house and crate trained and gets along well with other dogs.

Petra

American Bulldog
Young Adult – Female

Petra is slowly learning to enjoy the good life and trust people. She was originally found with a shepherd living in an abandoned house in Owasso. She does seem to want to me alpha female, so experience integrating an alpha into a multi-dog household, or even an only dog household will be recommended. She’s turning into a real sweetheart !! ❤️

Shiner

Border Collie/Cattle Dog
Adult – Male

Meet Shiner, they don’t get any more handsome than this! We think shiner could be a short hair border collie mix or possibly a McNab collie mix which is a type of stock dog out of California, he definitely has all the energy and sass that goes along with a stock dog! He warms up quickly and remembers his people. He can herd any cat in the yard up the tree and keep it there! He does well with people, he does well with children any plays great with the dogs at the dog park! He would do best with a family that would include him in all activities, a home that has an abundance of activities and dog toys. He does well with other dogs as long as they’re nice, He would need to meet any dogs in the home first to make sure they would get along and be a good fit. He is very smart and trainable and super sweet! To find out more about shiner and how to meet him in person please contact okie pet rescue.

Teddy

Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Male

Mr. Teddy was found as a stray. He is a very sweet and mellow love bug. We are unsure of his past, but we suspect a man was not kind to him. He needs some time to warm up to people, but men especially. Teddy is an all around good boy and is kid, cat, and dog friendly! He loves playing tug and gets the zoomies when he gets excited! Teddy would make a great addition to any home!!

Nala

Labrador Retriever/Husky
Young Adult – Female

Nala and her sister Harley were found as strays, presumably dumped in rural Oklahoma. Harley has been transferred to our rescue partner, but Nala still waits. Nala has come such a long way since we got her; she used to be a shutdown-petrified puppy. Now she is more confident and enjoys car rides and playing with other dogs. She can still be slightly timid with people she doesn't know, but she becomes friendly pretty fast!! Unfortunately, Nala has grown up in boarding and has never been properly house-trained; we suspect she will need some training in that department. Nala has a goofy disposition and enjoys going on adventures with her people. She is in need of a foster home or an adoptive home!!

Winston

Hound
Young Adult – Male

Special Needs: Epileptic I AM ON DAILY MEDS Winston, and his brother, Wally, were originally in a box by the road marked “free” ; the owners of the momma dog agreed to hand them over to the rescue. Wally has been adopted, but Winston has been in our program for months with no interest. Winston began having seizures a couple months after he was in his foster home. Our vet partners have run an array of tests, but they can not determine the cause of the seizures. Winston maintains very well on his daily medication, and he has minimal break through seizures. His meds are fairly inexpensive. Winston is still a good boy who enjoys playing with other dogs, travels well, and is house trained! He deserves his forever family! Please consider giving this sweet boy a chance!

Remington

Australian Shepherd
Young Adult – Male

Remi has come a long way since his intake. He came to us completely terrified and under socialized. He would thrive in a home with another social, outgoing dog playmate. He would also prefer a home with limited car rides, as he gets car sick.

Honey Bee

Australian Shepherd
Young Adult – Female

HoneyBee was surrendered by a local breeder when she decided to close down her breeding program. Honeybee and the other two Aussies we took were clearly not well socialized and they don’t show very well at events currently. HoneyBee is sweet but requires some time to warm up. She would do best in a home with another social playful housemate, as that gives her the most confidence with people!

Gus

Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Male

Gus is as sweet as they come ! He’s dog friendly, kid friendly, and is just happy to get some love! We aren’t sure how he is with cats.

Martha -CL

Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur
Young Adult – Female

COURTESY LISTING … please contact Valerie at 817-454-0519 Martha is one of 2 young adult female dogs that were dumped at our rural church and cemetery in SE Oklahoma. She is a lover and will ask for a belly rub before she will eat. Even when she was starving! She does great on and off leash, and loves to be around other dogs. While taking shelter under the church building Martha had a litter of 5 adorable puppies. Even when she was caring for her young puppies she was so sweet to everyone who came to care for her and her puppies. There is a sense of gratitude from this beautiful soul. The puppies have been placed with a rescue and are currently being fostered. 2 of her puppies have even found forever homes! It hasn’t been so easy for momma Martha though. After gaining weight back and recovering from being a nursing mom she has recently been spayed, and is up to date on all shots including rabies. She is estimated to be close to 2 years old. Martha and her sister Mary are being fostered on a farm locally but have not had anyone interested in giving them a permanent home. They’re learning all about farm life but would love to be somebody’s special one on a farm or in the city! Our area has been inundated with dumped dogs. We would love for these girls to have a chance to live somewhere where their lives are valued and resources are more available.

Mary - CL

Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur
Young Adult – Female

COURTESY LISTING… please contact Valerie at 817-454-0519 Mary is one of 2 adult dogs dumped at a rural church and cemetery in SE Oklahoma. She is all about giving and receiving love! Like her sister Martha she will often want a belly rub before she gets to work on her food. Even when she was starving! Mary knows how to sit and stay, and is great on and off leash. She loves to be with her people even if that’s been a temporary caregiver, especially if that means a ride in the car! She also loves to be around other dogs. Mary has recently been spayed and is up to date on all shots including rabies. Mary and her sister Martha are currently being fostered on a local farm but have not had any interest to be taken into a permanent home. They’re learning all about farm life but would love a home anywhere country or city. Our area has been inundated with dumped dogs. We would love for these girls to have a chance to live somewhere where their lives are valued and resources are more available.

Ghost

Australian Shepherd
Young Adult – Male

Meet Ghost! This guy is full of energy and has never met a stranger. He is still a puppy and gets along great with everyone (humans and animals). As a bonus he is absolutely gorgeous! He would love to have a doggie friend to play with and learn from.

Chowder

Hound
Baby – Male

Chowder is a mirror image of his dad, Parker. He has more of the hound look and sound to him. He is super playful, but also likes to cuddle. Chowder is crate trained and working on house training when not in the crate. He is working on basic commands and will sit for treats.

DJ

Hound
Baby – Male

DJ is a feisty, fluffy furball. He is super playful and likes to play chase with his brother. He doesn't seem to mind the colder weather with his thick coat of fur. DJ is crate trained and working on house training when not in the crate. He is working on basic commands and will sit for treats.

Theon Greyjoy

Miniature Pinscher/Terrier
Young Adult – Male

This handsome fellow is ready for his forever home. Theon is the last of 18 puppies we took in back in March. We don't understand why this cutie has been with us so long. He loves to run and play in the yard or snuggle up when it is nap time. Theon is crate trained, puppy pad trained and only has an occasional accident in the house. Theon enjoys being held and travels well in the car. He is well behaved around cats and kids.

Pancetta "Pan"

Australian Shepherd/Dachshund
Adult – Male

Pan is very nervous and slow to trust. His social circle after being abandoned by his owners has been to trust the pack so he get along with every other animal, but people will have to take it slow. Pan likes to be pet around his head and loves a good belly rub, but these do have to be on his terms. He will come and sit with you when he is ready and loves to play with other dogs. Pan will need a patient home that will allow him to bond at his own pace. He will probably need at least one other dog in the household to bond with for comfort.

Rosie

Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Female

Rosie is currently stuck in boarding ! They report that she’s been great with other dogs, and she’s even been good around kids.

Jay

Great Dane/Border Collie
Baby – Male

Meet Jay! Jay was pulled from Tulsa Animal Welfare and came to OPR. We aren’t sure where he came from or how he ended up at the shelter; but based on the condition he was in, he was most likely dumped, or a stray. Jay had lots of deep cuts and puncture wounds but is doing a lot better now! Jay is pretty anxious when it comes to meeting new people, but with a few treats he warms up quickly! He loves other dogs, and has never been around cats or other animals. We think Jay is Great Dane/Border Collie/Pittie mix, so he’ll probably be big. He would do best in an active home, with a yard to run around in,and probably with some dog siblings!

Once his stray hold was complete, he was relinquished to our rescue and received some much-needed medical care. Ollie had twenty rotten teeth extracted, and some general care from one of our great partner vets. He has some more recovery to do, and were expoloring some mobility issues with him .

Mumble Happy Feet

Pit Bull Terrier
Young Adult – Female

Mumble was well known as a local, wandering dog whose owners couldn't care less. She was also allowed to have multiple litters whom many times passed away from parvo. On her last litter, she was bred by a very large dog that also bit off the end of her tail. Despite having very irresponsible owners previously, Mumble is very sweet! She plays well with dogs and even wants to play with cats. She is cautious with new people but easily won over with treats! Mumble is crate trained, housebroken, and rides great in a car.
